WaveAccess always tries to use most progressive technologies to achieve the required functionality as soon as possible and with proper quality support. In this project EJBs were used, allowing to provide the system with the desired scalability.
General system description
For the Morgengold company we developed a sophisticated multi tier Internet technology based application that helps to manage, track and account their breakfast delivering business. This system consists of the following portals: the customer portal, the franchise-taker portal, the franchise-giver portal, the driver portal and the supplier of goods portal. Our company was responsible for creating the customer and franchise-taker portals. They include the following general modules: articles catalog, orders handling and delivery parts lists. Also it incorporates the generation of reports in PDF format, using XML and XSL, processing files provided in a standardized banking format and development of an administrative client. The remaining parts were realized in Germany.
Working process
The team size was changed from 7 to 10 people. The process included the following steps: familiarization with technical materials (most documents were in German), UML design, development of a framework, development of the application and testing. The general concept and the application framework were developed by the German company's system architect and our team leader in Germany. After creating the common framework a project plan was developed and the realization of the project was executed simultaneously in Germany and Russia with compulsory points of synchronization.
Model
The typical three tier architecture of a J2EE application was used: JSPs and Servlets for presentational purposes, Session EJBs for the business cases and Entity EJBs for persistence.
